What is PIC?
A PIC, or personal identification code, is a player-designated code used by the PIC security system as an additional measure to secure game accounts and help prevent unauthorized access.
Why am I no longer prompted for my PIC?
A Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) system was integrated with Nexon Launcher and Steam to increase account security. Subsequently, the PIC system was removed from the MapleStory v.224 update to eliminate systems redundancy and improve player convenience.
How can I keep my game secure without a PIC?
Nexon employs a Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) feature, which is integrated with both Nexon Launcher and Steam, for an extra layer of security to help protect your account.
Along with your credentials, 2FA allows you to access your Nexon account with SMS or Authenticator verification via your mobile device. This lets you securely perform all in-game actions without the need to constantly enter a secondary password. You can also add frequently used devices to your trusted list to temporarily bypass 2FA verification for even faster access to your account.
