The Frame Rate for a game indicates how frequently the game draws its graphics on your screen. Higher frame rates result in a smoother visual experience, with 60 frames per second being a common benchmark for smooth visuals.
Issues that reduce your frame rate can cause the game to feel choppy, animations to look incomplete, or result in a "slideshow" effect, where the graphics are redrawn infrequently rather than many times per second.
We recommend the following troubleshooting steps to improve frame rates while playing MapleStory:
- Ensure your computer meets the minimum MapleStory System Requirements. Meeting or exceeding the recommended requirements will improve performance further.
- Update your graphics drivers. For Windows users, also update Direct X.
- In the Settings > Graphics menu, adjust the Graphics Quality setting to best fit your computer. Further adjustments can be made by clicking on the gear icon next to the drop-down menu.
If you still encounter an issue, submit a Support Ticket with a detailed explanation of the issue for further investigation. When possible, include a video that shows the issue and a DxDiag Report (Windows) or System Report (macOS).
