Reduced frame rates while playing MapleStory

Articles in this section

The Frame Rate for a game indicates how frequently the game draws its graphics on your screen. Higher frame rates result in a smoother visual experience, with 60 frames per second being a common benchmark for smooth visuals.

Issues that reduce your frame rate can cause the game to feel choppy, animations to look incomplete, or result in a "slideshow" effect, where the graphics are redrawn infrequently rather than many times per second.

We recommend the following troubleshooting steps to improve frame rates while playing MapleStory:

  1. Ensure your computer meets the minimum MapleStory System Requirements. Meeting or exceeding the recommended requirements will improve performance further.

  2. Update your graphics drivers. For Windows users, also update Direct X.

  3. In the Settings > Graphics menu, adjust the Graphics Quality setting to best fit your computer. Further adjustments can be made by clicking on the gear icon next to the drop-down menu.
