How to flush DNS and renew IP addresses

The Domain Name System or DNS cache contains information needed to convert a domain name into its IP address. This data is used when connecting to a server. If you experience connectivity problems such as lag or disconnections, clearing out this cache (called flushing) and renewing IP addresses can help improve your connection.

Flush DNS and Renew IP Addresses

  1. Close any Nexon games that are currently open.
  2. Press the Window key to open Start menu search bar.
  3. In the search bar, navigate to the Command Window by typing: cmd
  4. Under the Command Prompt app, click on Run as administrator to open the Command Prompt with administrator permissions.

  5. In the Command Prompt window, type the following text: ipconfig /release

    ipconfig release.png
     
  6. Press Enter key to run the command.
  7. After a moment, the results will be displayed.
  8. Repeat the process with text: ipconfig /flushdns

  9. When complete, click on the X icon in the top-right corner to close the Command Prompt window.
  10. Launch the game again to connect with your refreshed connection.
