If the MapleStory game client closes soon after being opened through the Nexon Launcher or Steam, there could be several possible causes. We recommend the following troubleshooting steps to narrow down the cause:
- Ensure that you are playing from a supported region. Global MapleStory is not available to users located in a region with its own MapleStory service. This includes Korea, Japan, China, South East Asia, Taiwan. If you reside in one of the above regions, visit the appropriate website to create an account and start playing on your local MapleStory service.
- Game files may be out-of-date or corrupted. Perform a Repair Installation to update your game files.
- Disable third-party software. Running third-party software while MapleStory is open may trigger anti-cheat detection and cause MapleStory to close. If needed, perform a Clean Boot to ensure software conflicts do not occur.
If you still encounter an issue, submit a Support Ticket with a detailed explanation of the issue for further investigation. When possible, include a video that shows the issue.
