Creating a Process List

A Process List is a file that shows all of the programs and processes currently active on your computer. This file can be attached to a support ticket to help troubleshoot technical issue you encounter that are caused by conflicts with other programs.

Create Process List

  1. Press the Window key to open Start menu search bar. 
  2. In the search bar, open the Command Window by typing: cmd

  3. Highlight and copy the following text: tasklist /v > "%USERPROFILE%\desktop\Process.txt" 
  4. Paste the copied text into the Command Prompt window. In some cases, you may need to right-click inside the Command Prompt window to paste the text.

  5. Press Enter 
  6. Wait ~30 seconds while a text file with the Process List is created. 
  7. Once complete, a Process.txt file should appear on your desktop.  

 

Attach Process List to a Ticket:

  1. From the Submit a Request form, go to the Attachments section.
  2. Drag your file to the dropzone or click Add File to browser for and select your file, and then click Open.
  3. After the file uploads, it appears towards the bottom of the Attachments section.


     
  4. Repeat the steps above to attach other files, as needed.
  5. To remove an attachment, click the Remove ( X ) icon next to the file.
