A Process List is a file that shows all of the programs and processes currently active on your computer. This file can be attached to a support ticket to help troubleshoot technical issue you encounter that are caused by conflicts with other programs.
Create Process List
- Press the Window key to open Start menu search bar.
- In the search bar, open the Command Window by typing: cmd
- Highlight and copy the following text: tasklist /v > "%USERPROFILE%\desktop\Process.txt"
- Paste the copied text into the Command Prompt window. In some cases, you may need to right-click inside the Command Prompt window to paste the text.
- Press Enter
- Wait ~30 seconds while a text file with the Process List is created.
- Once complete, a Process.txt file should appear on your desktop.
Attach Process List to a Ticket:
- From the Submit a Request form, go to the Attachments section.
- Drag your file to the dropzone or click Add File to browser for and select your file, and then click Open.
- After the file uploads, it appears towards the bottom of the Attachments section.
- Repeat the steps above to attach other files, as needed.
- To remove an attachment, click the Remove ( X ) icon next to the file.
